Steeking
I forgot to mention in my last post, we had a white Christmas here. The snow is all gone now, but it was white for a few days. We even had a snowman.
Now, some of you out there may remember a sweater called Marihone. I managed to get it all finished for Christmas party wearing by the littlest knitter. I have some pictures of the steeking process. The first picture is of it pinned and ready for sewing(on the machine). The second picture is of me cutting the steek. The third is the cut steek. I have never steeked before, but it was a good experience and I would do it again. Naturally, there is a fourth finished object picture.
Maybe by the end of the year, I will have another finished object. Perhaps I could finish the stuffed bunny and bears. Yes, I have sadly missed my Christmas morning deadline. If I had done all my finishing work along the way, I could have had 2 of the animals under the tree. However, I think that the girls won’t care if they get a gift and it isn’t Christmas.
Our Christmas this year was the Christmas of books. Lots and lots of books. We like this at our house. Amongst the goodies were Eloise (The Ultimate Edition), Bats at the Beach, and Runaway Bunny. Plus there were Tinker Toys and loads of wood blocks. Yup, our house is now officially a death trap. Little blocks just waiting to scoot around a corner and nail your feet in the darkness. After they get you down, who knows….

I would have to agree that steeking also makes me nervous. I might need to try it a few more times.
Happy New year!
