Who's Got Christmas Spirit?

I do! We are done decorating for Christmas, I think. The tree is up and decorated, and christmassy things are placed around the house. We started with the outdoor lights on Saturday. No one else in the neighborhood has lights to speak of. In the country, there aren't many people who decorate their yard or house. The picture is the lights on the arbor over our gate. The arbor is a home made out of pressure treated logs sort of thing. The kind they sell for fence posts. Someday there will be roses growing on it.

I even have managed to get some knitting done during all the decorating. Nothing worth showing yet, though. I have gotten some new knitting magazines, though. I've never picked Vogue Knitting or Knitscene before. I really like Knitscene. I am not sure yet about VK, though. There are some things in it that I love. And some things that I think are horrible. I am used to IK where the patterns are with the pictures. I like that kind of layout better, I think. There are things in nearly every IK that I wouldn't make on a bet.

I have a date with The Mummy and some knitting now....

Thanks so much for the encouraging words, very appreciated!

The first thing I thought when I saw your photo was, "That is fabulous - I will have to remember that for my future house." ☺ I subscribe to both IK and Vogue. I tend to want to make more of the IK patterns, and I really appreciate that you can find a lot of "everyday" items to knit, like socks and hats and such, but with nice variations. Vogue is just pretty to look at, it's more something I enjoy browsing and find things that I might be brave enough to do one day... I think I just love magazines - it's a really inexpensive way to get a treat in the mail. And I love treats in the mail. ☺

I've put up a very little tree. It's not even a foot tall. It has little electric lights on it. Someday the boyfriend and I will have a real tree with real decorations. I think for next year, I'll make a tree out of twigs and decorate it with felted balls.
