The Weekend
The weekend… I love the weekend. I want to spend it being crafty. We’ll see how it works out. I had a setback on my second Wolverine hat. It came out larger than the first one, but was crocheted with a smaller hook. I have to read the pattern carefully and do some counting. I suspect I didn’t decrease somewhere that I should have. At one point today, I was finished with all the ends woven in. There is nothing worse than ripping from DONE.
Today, I decided to go for it and get some books on herbal remedies. I actually have some books on that subject, but I was looking for recipes and my books don’t have much of that. The stuff I have tells you ways to prepare a particular herb to use for certain things which is great, but I wanted something more.
Tomorrow morning, Maggie’s sister, Reese, is coming to visit. She is bringing her owner with her, of course. I got Maggie from Jodi. Reese is the pup she decided to keep. The dog at the top of Jodi’s blog is Maggie’s mother, Echo.
I’ve decided to join in the Holiday Bootcamp on Etsy. This is my pledge:
I, Kathy of 3 Grrrls Handmade, pledge to participate in the Etsy Success Holiday Boot Camp to the best of my abilities. I vow to check in every week, do my homework and support my fellow Holiday Boot Campers. I will read the weekly newsletters and blog posts, check in on the weekly forum thread, read the weekly blog post, check off the checklists and salute the mascot. I promise to share what I've learned with those who need it, support my fellow Etsy indiepreneurs and, most of all, have a positive and persistent attitude. I understand that together we can spread the word about our handmade and vintage goods, making this holiday season a more unique and meaningful one to gift givers and give-ees everywhere!
Don’t forget to buy handmade good for the holidays if you don’t have time to make presents yourself! Pretty soon the craft fairs will be popping up everywhere, and there is always Etsy. You can take the handmade pledge, here.
