Those New Year's Resolutions....
I really was going to make that third post last week. But my world got turned upside down when I got a call saying my Dad had had a heart attack. Luckily it was a minor one and he is already back home from the hospital. He got a stent in the offending artery and they are going to keep an eye on another one.
I have finally finished my first January sock. I think I am running behind if I want to finish them by the end of the month. Not that I’m not going to try to get it done. Next month is a short month and the socks I am making have a pretty long leg. I need to get a head start on them if I can. Could this be the first resolution to go down the tube? Hope not.
I’ve been looking for projects with new techniques. One of the sweaters I found a couple weeks ago looked like it had attached I-cord for an edging. I am going to do a toe up sock for another technique. When you have knit for a long time, it can be hard to find new techniques. Short rows, cables, and intarsia are out. I don’t care for that geometric stuff that I can’t remember the name of. I haven’t done any real lace patterns, so a lace shawl may be in order for one of my techniques. By the time I pour over my books and magazines, I will probably have forgotten why it was I drug all of them out. New techniques are fun, so I am really looking forward to finding them.
